Created for His Glory
On Sunday mornings as I drive to church early in the morning, I listen to sessions on the Abide app. This morning I heard two shorter sessions that weren’t related by design, but God said the same thing to me through both of them.
When God created the universe, He spoke everything to existence, with one exception: mankind. He made Adam with His own hands from the dust of the earth, and He made Eve from Adam’s rib bone.
Fast forward to John 6. Jesus fed 5,000 people (men, so with wives and kids, the number was likely much higher) with only a handful of bread and fish. The point of the Abide session was that Jesus used what he had and glorified God through it.
You know, humanity is the only species of God’s creation that He designed to bear His image. As a result, God has given every one of us talents and skills that we’re meant to use for His glory.
It may be easy for us to dismiss ourselves as untalented or unworthy. But God means for us to use what we have for His glory. In fact, when we use our gifts for the glory of God, we grow ever closer to Him.
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (ESV)
Use your gifts and talents for God’s glory. Put what you have to work to point others to Him. You can never go wrong when you do what you do to glorify Him!
