Happy 120th Birthday, Walt Disney!
I don’t have many earthly heroes. There are a few political ones — Ronald Reagan and Calvin Coolidge — a couple of astronauts — Jim Irwin and Jim Lovell — among them.
But a pair of brothers stand pretty high on my short list of heroes.
Everyone who knows me knows about my family’s Disney obsession fascination. We wouldn’t get to experience the movies, shows, and theme parks if it weren’t for Walt and Roy Disney.
Older brother Roy Disney was the business guy, but we all know that Walt was the creative genius.
Walt Disney was born on December 5, 1901, and his tireless creativity continued until just before his death in 1966.
I’m inspired by Walt not just for the films, TV shows, and theme parks that stemmed from his ideas and commitment to excellence, but I’m also a fan of his patriotism and adherence to American and Judeo-Christian values. (It’s just a shame his company hasn’t stuck to those ideals.)
Happy 120th Birthday, Walt. Thanks for the inspiration.
