Homestretch Time!
On Tuesday, I passed a significant milestone in my National Novel Writing Month challenge: I hit 40,000 words.
For those of you math nerds, that’s 80% of the way done in 73% of the time. I’m winding my way toward the end of this challenge, and the ending is coming quickly.
I discovered as I was writing this thing that the beginning of the plot came easily, and the ending is flowing in a similar fashion. The middle was where I bogged down and wondered if I could do it.
The crazy thing is that for the past three weeks, these characters have been living in my head. I’ve had ideas come to me when I’m nowhere near my laptop — often in the shower. I’ll think of scenarios late at night or early in the morning.
They’ve almost become real people to me.
I’ve got just over a week until this challenge ends, and I can’t wait to see how it all turns out.
