New Adventures
Today is a bittersweet day.
October 7 marks the end of seven years on staff at Eastridge — 13 years total, counting my first go ‘round on staff.
I’ll be on vacation next week, and on October 18, I embark on an exciting new adventure.
But first, I have to say goodbye to a job that I’ve loved and been passionate about in better times and in tough times. My Eastridge coworkers aren’t just colleagues; they’re family, which has made this transition so poignant.
Eastridge will always be my home, and I’ll continue to serve as long as I’m able. My church family will see me on Sundays, in groups, and in events. That will never change, and my love for my former work family won’t either.
So…what’s the new adventure? I’m going to be a full-time writer!
My new position is Assistant Editor at PJ Media. I wrote freelance for PJM from 2011 to 2019 (and occasionally since), so I’m familiar with some of the people I’ll be working with. I’ll spend about half my time writing and half my time editing.
The upside? Salary and benefits — and I get to work from home!
The thing is, I wasn’t looking for another job, so when the opportunity was presented to me, I prayed that the Lord would make His will crystal clear to me. I believe He did, and I’m going to try my best to bring glory to Him with this new opportunity.
So yes, today is bittersweet, but the sweet far outweighs the bitter.
