Power
In our Bible Study this past Wednesday, we touched on a pair of verses that, sadly, I’ve overlooked or just skimmed over too many times. But taking a look at it in-depth has given it a new resonance for me.
“…and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms…” (Ephesians 1:19-20, NIV)
I’m bad about scanning over the introductory chapters in books too quickly and often missing information, and unfortunately, I often do the same thing with the first chapters of Paul’s letters, because they’re usually introductions as well. After reading these verses and talking about them on Wednesday, I’ve gotten a glimpse of what I can miss sometimes.
But I digress…
On Wednesday, as we talked about these verses in-depth, we discussed how we witness God’s power in our lives. The same power that raised Christ from the dead redeemed us, frees us from bondage, convicts us, encourages us, sustains us…and so much more. It’s exciting and uplifting to think that God uses His power to benefit us and make us more like Him.
How have you witnessed God’s power in your life?
