(I know what you’re thinking… two posts in one day? I’m as shocked as you are.)
As I look back over this year, I do realize how much of it was devoted to writing. Neon Crosses finally published, and it was my first full year as a full-time writer and editor.
I also made a dent in a novel based on an idea I’ve had for a couple of years and completed the first draft of another novel in less than a month. So, needless to say, writing has consumed a lot of my year, and I loved almost every minute of it.
The Georgia Bulldogs won the National Championship, and as I write this, we’re playing a semifinal game tonight for this year’s championship. We’ve waited so long for a return to glory like this, so I can’t tell you how much it means to me. Go Dawgs!
I also had the opportunity to go to the UGA game vs. Tennessee, which was the regular season game of the year.
On the family front, it’s been a great year watching the girls grow and mature. We did a couple of beach trips and a trip to the mountains, so even if we didn’t do a Disney pilgrimage, we did have some fun traveling. At church, we had some really positive changes, and I see so much health in our congregation at Eastridge.
We also had a close call with a tornado on New Year’s Eve last year, so I’m grateful for more stable weather this year.
Oh yeah, and I turned 50. I had a great time celebrating with family and friends. Turning 50 wasn’t as bad as some people acted like it would be. I’m enjoying it so far.
Overall, 2022 was a good year for me, even if it wasn’t necessarily that eventful for me, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me in 2023!
Happy New Year, y’all!
