Treated Like an MVP
I tried a new(ish) place for my haircut this weekend.
They have a service called “MVP,” and first-time customers get this treatment for free. Let me tell you about it.
Not only did I get a great haircut and good conversation (no small talk), but I also received a shampoo.
But it gets better. The shampoo chair was a massaging chair, and the stylist put a steamed towel on my face. As she washed my hair, she massaged my scalp.
When we got back to the haircut chair, she used a massaging gun on my shoulders.
All of this goodness cost a little more than the place where I used to go charged me — even with the free service as a first-time guest. But it was worth it.
On top of everything else, she gave me a bunch of coupons that will save me some money.
This place made a new loyal customer.
No matter what we do, we have ways of treating others like MVPs. It could be at work, home, or church, but we have opportunities almost every day to make people feel special.
The Bible reminds us how to treat others:
Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
Philippians 2:3-4 (ESV)
Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.
Romans 12:9-10 (ESV)
I want to encourage you to treat the people around you like MVPs. They’ll appreciate it, and I bet you will too.
